Every Komp comes with an integrated 4G SIM card that is active during the installation process. The person who sets up the Komp automatically becomes administrator and will receive a message during onboarding whether they want to purchase 4G or use WiFi instead.
If there is no WiFi available, you can purchase an unlimited 4G subscription for £18.99 per month, with the first month for free. The subscription is managed via the Google Play Store (for Android devices) or the App Store (for Apple devices). When activated, you can cancel your subscription any time.

Tap “Use WiFi instead” if you don’t want to purchase a subscription, and add a WiFi network to the Komp. When the Komp is connected to WiFi, the 4G SIM card will be disabled. More information on adding a WiFi network.
How do I activate 4G?
If you are setting up Komp for the first time and your app is displaying the image above, simply tap “Start free trial” to activate your 4G subscription.
You can also activate your 4G at a later stage, but only administrators can purchase a subscription. If you are not an admin, please ask a family member who is, to give you admin rights. Komp can have multiple admins.
As the administrator,
- Go to Settings
- Under Add-ons, tap 4G subscription
- 4G subscriptions are managed by the App Store (Apple) or Play Store (Android). Tap Subscribe.
- When you see that the 4G is active in the app, please restart Komp. Unplug from power for 10 seconds, plug back in and start Komp. It will automatically connect to 4G.
If the person who is paying for 4G does not have a bank card, they will need to set up a standing order from their account to a family member that is able to set up the subscription via their app.
How do I cancel 4G?
You can cancel your 4G subscription at any time, there is no minimum period. After cancellation your subscription will last until the end of the current period. Cancelling your subscription will deactivate the 4G SIM card after the end of the subscription period.
Please note: you will need to cancel your subscription in the Google Play Store (Android) or the App Store (Apple). Deleting your app will NOT cancel your subscription.
Google Play Store (Android)
The Google Play Store allows Android users to make payments for recurring charges or subscriptions, including the 4G subscription for Komp. The Google Play Store charges your specified payment method automatically on the same date each billing period.
Please note that subscription cancellations cannot be undone, although you can always re-subscribe in the future. More updated information can be found on Google Payments' own page.
App Store (iOS)
Like the Google Play Store, the App Store allows iOS users to make payments for recurring charges or subscriptions, including the 4G subscription for Komp. The App Store charges your specified payment method automatically on the same date each billing period.
To cancel your 4G subscription on your iPhone or iPad please open the Settings app on your device:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the subscription that you want to manage.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. If you don’t see Cancel, the subscription is already canceled and won't renew.
